Do you ever have the idea that God rewards us for our faith? At times that may seem the case, but really…….our faith allows God to manifest Himself in a deeper way in order to connect with us more intimately. And, yes, it also pleases Him beyond words that we trust Him during the most difficult situations.
God desires for us to live a life of steadfast faith, not a life of ups and downs according to His blessings. God often withdraws His blessings from us so that we keep walking in faith and not by His obvious blessings. A life of faith must be tried before the reality of faith is an actual fact in our lives.
The active principle of faith is that we always put Him first, no matter what the circumstances may be, how bad we may feel or how deep the pit. We say, “It looks mad and crazy, but I am going to trust and seek Him first.”
Mathew 6:30-34 (ASV): “30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
When faith is being worked out in us it has to go through periods of isolation, which is not just the ordinary disciplines of life, but faith in God against everything that contradicts Him. We will say, “I will remain true to God’s character and His Word whatever He allows in my life.” Job 13:15 says, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”
God has promised that if we seek Him with intensity He Himself will be our reward. He may let us go through fire, but we will not be burned and the fire causes us to deepen our faith if we let Him.
Here we have a picture of a blacksmith hammering on a hot piece of metal and molding it into a useful and beautiful vessel and I hear Him say:” It is My love that allows you to go through my fire so you will become that honorable vessel you have always desire to be.”
